Happy Thanksgiving, NYC. During this holiday season, remember to thank and support the small businesses that keep our economy strong.
This Saturday, November 30 is Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving as an incentive for customers to “shop small”. This year, American Express cardholders are being offered $10 back when they spend at least $10 at qualifying merchants.
As we enter another busy holiday, NYCEDC encourages New Yorkers to support small businesses. With more than 88 percent of NYC businesses employing fewer than 20 employees, small businesses are a crucial part of the city’s economy.
